SKIN & FEATHER BIOPSY Histopathology performed using skin/feather biopsy samples sent to screen for PBFD or other causes of feather picking. |
Please submit biopsy of feather & follicla of preferably affected feathers. If there are no affected feathers, active blood feathers are your best choice. Plucked feathers are not recommended for adequate sampling. | 000 |
HISTOPATHOLOGY Tissues sent are processed and analyzed for evidence of desease. Sending the Bursa Fabricus in cases of very young birds is strongly recommended. |
Submit desired tissues in formalin. Sending whole carcasses is discouraged as failure of overnight courier may result in complete loss via autolysis of the tissues. |
