Avian & Exotic is in close proximity to DHl's largest sorting hub in the United States. This allows us to retrieve packages very early in the morning six (6) days a week. This also allows us to receive tremendous customer support.
Our DHL shipping address (see right) is only for DHL shipped packages.
DHL EZ return labels (see right) are only supplied through us. Please call the lab when you have ten (10) or less.These labels are barcoded and will be delivered to us regardless of any address on them. All shipping codes are already on the label so simply peel and stick them onto the labpack. Be sure to save the small strip at the bottom of the label so that you can easily reference your tracking number.
Red labpacks and small padded pouches must be ordered through DHL (800-CALLDHL).
You can call 800-CALLDHL to schedule a pickup. Always ask for the latest pickup of your day to maximize daily coverage. Try to place all samples into ONE DHL padded pouch and then into the plastic labpack. This will maximize the shipping program discounts for your hospital.
We are open Saturdays and can receive most packages sent on Friday utilizing regular labpack services. In most cases, requesting Saturday delivery will only increase extra costs to your account.
Please avoid shipping in boxes unless they fit into the labpack. Shipping in boxes will only slow down delivery of your package until later in the day thus delaying your results.
Ice Packs are needed primarily when sending adrenal packs and T-4 testing. We recommend that you use a very small icepack to avoid additional shipping costs and possible spillage/HAZMAT charges as well.
If you are experiencing any difficulties with your DHL pickups - scheduling a pickup or communicating with your DHL driver - please call the lab first. We have a very responsive and effective DHL support team to handle such issues.
