Important Note:  Do not use gel swabs for ANY DNA/PCR tests or IFA’s.  It is better to use non-gel swabs routinely to avoid confusion at critical times.   Note: If gel swabs are all that is available, simply take the sample with the swab provided and do not place it into the provided gel-filled tube. Place the swab into the plastic wrapper and tape it closed.  Alternate: Cut or shorten swabs and transport them in RTT vials.
